"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." - T. S. Eliott

The town of Manteo on Roanoke Island is rich in history. The Elizabeth II is an exact replica of the ship used by Sir Walter Raleigh to bring the first settlers to Roanoke. Manteo is also know as "The Lost Colony" as the settlers disappeared when they waited 3 years for sup

Psalms Chapter 121, Verse 1 ~ I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

The Fred Symmes Chapel sits high on the edge of the mountain outside Cleveland, SC. Driving 5 hours through the night, then winding up a narrow mountain road having little idea what waited for us at the top. I walked in to this outdoor house of worship and my breathe was literally taken away. I remember saying out loud, "Holy, Lord Jesus, this is beautiful". Truly one of the most beautiful places I have seen.

“A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams.” ~ John Barrymore.

After visiting the enchanted Magnolia Plantation the fall of 2014, I knew I wanted to see these beautiful gardens in full bloom. It was ceratinly disappointing to see the azeleas limp and hanging on the bushes. Once I overcame the disheartenment, I realized that the dying blooms actually added to the charm of this almost two century year old plantation.

Browne and many more of the best singer-song writers from the 70's to keep me company, I found myself completely lost in the journey and that my friends is a wonderful feeling!

I stayed last night at the Hungry Hippie Hostel and was greeted by amazing hosts, made new friends and with no cell services, I was more relaxed and slept better than I have in weeks.

This morning, with the temperature at -14 degrees, I headed to the shore and was awestruck with what waited for me as the new day started to peek over the horizo...
