The Fred Symmes Chapel sits high on the edge of the mountain outside Cleveland, SC. Driving 5 hours through the night, then winding up a narrow mountain road having little idea what waited for us at the top. I walked in to this outdoor house of worship and my breathe was literally taken away. I remember saying out loud, "Holy, Lord Jesus, this is beautiful". Truly one of the most beautiful places I have seen.

After visiting the enchanted Magnolia Plantation the fall of 2014, I knew I wanted to see these beautiful gardens in full bloom. Unfortinately a couple of days before our visit, mother nature decided to throw a curve ball, laying down a killing two day freeze. It was ceratinly disappointing to see the azeleas limp and hanging on the bushes. Once I overcame the disheartenment, I realized that the dying blooms actually added to the charm of this almost two century year old plantation.
Soul cleansing, soul inspiring ~ The north shore of Minnesota seems to have that effect on me and I spent the last 2 days doing just that, cleansing my soul and finding a spark of inspiration that seemed to be missing lately. With temps below zero the shore is even better for the soul.
I was up at 4 am on Saturday and drove from Minneapolis to the border of Canada. stopping to capture the beauty along the way. With the likes of Steely Dan, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jackson... Browne and many more of the best singer-song writers from the 70's to keep me company, I found myself completely lost in the journey and that my friends is a wonderful feeling!
I stayed last night at the Hungry Hippie Hostel and was greeted by amazing hosts, made new friends and with no cell services, I was more relaxed and slept better than I have in weeks.
